Pizza, Champagne & a Dried Floral Bar
I don’t understand how January was a million years long, but February has flown by in the blink of an eye. I’m trying to get in a rhythm of posting at least once a month, but it feels like I was just putting together January’s cookbook yesterday!
I’m continuing on my Half Baked Harvest kick (a lot of the recipes I collected for the cookbook were from her). I pinned an exceptional looking pizza (butternut squash, caramelized onions, sage, goat cheese…what more could you want) and that was really the catalyst for a Galentine’s day idea where I envisioned an excuse to make homemade pizza, drink wine, and do something fun with flowers.
Thus, this month I bring you…the most fun girl’s day I’ve had in a while! I invited my friends over to build a pizza with ingredients of their choosing. I made a wintery sangria with just the right kick of ginger (also thanks to Pinterest). We assembled dried floral bouquets that will last wayyy longer than your typical arrangement. It was casual and lovely and I got to bring together several separate friend groups, which was an added bonus!
I’m all about simple, meaningful hosting that isn’t like, tooooo fancy. I read a lot of blogs and am mega inspired by the level they go to, but a lot of it is just unrealistic/expensive. I did splurge on lots of dried flowers for this, but the pizza bar was relatively inexpensive to feed a group and a super fun activity at the same time. Plus, I knew I could use the leftovers for dinner for me and R, and leftover flowers for other events. I’d been looking for dried fan palm leaves for a while to add to my standard home decor, so those were a must on my list!
Completely unsponsored but I’ll shout out Afloral for all the pretty blooms. They had exactly what I wanted, in all the right colors :) And, they came well packaged and undamaged. My girls and I spent several glorious hours crafting pizza and unique bouquets, chatting and sipping wine. Perfection.

To top everything off, San Francisco blessed us with some unexpectedly spring-y weather for the long weekend so this Saturday was everything I could have dreamed up. Even though our apartment is small, cramming some friends in for quality time is so important! Tell me if this inspires your next girls day!
