Flourish

Strawberry Gin & Jam

Wow oh wow. This is my new all-time favorite cocktail, and I don’t say that lightly! I’m especially proud of this one because I created it by combining several different recipes and used the best gin ever, Amass Botanics. It’s the perfect summer sip — sweet (but not too sweet), interesting and layered, and so crushable.

We served these as part of a late summer cocktail party on September first, welcoming the transition from sunny days to cooler evenings. More details to come soon, but in the meantime, I beg you to make this before the warm weather disappears, especially if you live in California (it’s still 90 degrees this week). Or, save now for next summer!

What you’ll need

1.5 oz Amass Botanics Gin
1 oz fresh grapefruit juice
.5 oz Aperol
.5 oz fresh lemon juice
1.5 Tbsp Bonne Maman strawberry jam
A tiny splash simple syrup — roughly 1/8 oz

How to do it

Working backwards from the smallest/cheapest ingredient, add everything to the tin of a cocktail shaker. Fill with ice and shake for 15 seconds. Strain using a Hawthorne strainer into a glass over a large ice cube and garnish with half a strawberry.
